As our move into the new William H. Hannon Library continues, here's a summary of accomplishments, what's currently taking place, and what's coming up:
Accomplishments to celebrate...
- The books have been cleaned, measured, and tagged. The shelves at the William H. Hannon Library have been numbered and tagged. On Wednesday (6/24/09), Hallett Movers began moving books from the Von der Ahe Library to the William H. Hannon Library. This is one day earlier than scheduled.
Things that are happening...
- In the Von der Ahe Library, only Reference, Circulation, and the lobby are open to the public. The stacks are closed to allow Hallett Movers to move books and carts. Our library materials are no longer available. Patrons may request items from LINK+ or through Document Delivery.
- In the William H. Hannon Library:
- Utility shelving continues to be installed in the basement;
- IT (Information Technology) is preparing to install computer equipment in the Information Commons and other public areas.
- Library staff continue to visit the William H. Hannon Library to check on work in progress (e.g. equipment installation, shelving of books) or to inform policy/procedure decisions.
Coming Up...
- Hallett Movers is scheduled to begin moving staff offices and workstations on Friday, July 3, and then continuing Monday, July 6, until completed.
